Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
My wife and I thank you all so very much for your kind words of sympathy at Carol's mothers passing from this life to one much better. Mrs. Cater (Carols mother) was strong in her faith and we know she is with the Lord. Everyone has been so very kind and thoughtful. Church, we thank God upon every remembrance of you.
We hope and pray everyone had a very blessed celebration of our Lord and Saviors resurrection this past Easter. The choir did a great job and so did the children at the sunrise service. Both services were a special blessing. We had a tremendous attendance at both services as well, praise the Lord. If you were not able to attend, rest assured you were missed.
The month of April will be another very exciting time. This month we will be having REVIVAL services the 13-16. I am very excited about this!!! Revival is a very special time for the body of Christ to remember what it was like when we first fell in love with Jesus. Then compare where we are with where we were. Are we as fervent in our zeal to serve the Lord or have we lost some of that enthusiasm and joy along the way. If we discover that we are more on fire than ever for Christ, then praise the Lord and show it to the world and be the spark that ignites excitement and enthusiasm within the church. But if, after examining our relationship with the Lord, we find that we are more or less just going through the motions, that our Christianity has become more ritual than relational, that our zeal and drive to see a lost person saved has become mundane rather than a passionate desire, if, God forbid, we find that our lives are racked with sin that is bringing shame to the church and hurting the work of God, then dear brothers and sisters the need is for REPENTANCE. If we find that our love for Jesus is not being demonstrated through faithfulness to Christ, if, in the words of our Lord, we have lost our first love for Christ, then we must REMEMBER, REPENT, and RETURN. Jesus teaches this key to revival in the second chapter of the book of revelation where He strongly exhorts the church at Ephesus to fall in love with Him all over again.
Ultimately, revival is a simple matter of obeying the first and greatest commandment: To love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength. Meditating on what this truly involves will be the first and most important step to experiencing heaven sent revival!!!
After revival, HOMECOMING. The last Sunday in April will be homecoming and I believe this will be one of the biggest ever. Brother Ron wagner will be preaching that Sunday and I am really looking forward to the services.
So God has blessed us with a full month of exciting events. And as always, the faithfulness of His people will be key to seeing God move in a way that will release His blessings and see the lost come to know Jesus as their savior.
