Pastors Notes -- February 2008
Bro. David Nichols
Dear Family In Christ,

February is the month in which we celebrate Valentines Day. I always get a chuckle when I remember Lil Abner, Daisy Mae, and the Yokum's. On Sadie Hawkins Day the unmarried women folk chase after the unmarried men folk and whichever man the woman catches has to marry her.
If you have ever seen the movie it is hilarious. Daisy Mae does her best to catch Lil Abner and of course her extreme efforts are rewarded. She gets him!!!
Daisy Mae sets her sights on her Valentine and nothing is going to stop her. By now you have discerned where this is going...
What would happen if our hearts desire was so intense for Jesus Christ that we would chase after him in the sense of pursuing God to the fullest.
Pursuing His will for every facet of our life. God I will chase after you till I catch your will for my time, my money, my church, my spiritual gifts, my marriage, my children, my grandchildren, my service to you, my work on the job,and as the king of Siam would say, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera...
Of course most of you already caught the misnomer in the above paragraph---the word MY!!! There is for we Christians no MY!!! We are God's and so is everything else in our stewardship.
Imagine Jesus, the lover of your soul, as the consuming passion of your heart! Going on, let's stop imagining this and may this be our reality. Like Daisy Mae may this bride, Beach Baptist Chapel, be consumed with the passion of catching all that God has for us in Jesus Christ.
Passionately pursuing Christ our Valentine, living daily to do His will and like Christ having the passion to do whatever it takes to reach the lost with God's love.
That's what Jesus did for us. He died on the cross. He layed down His life. He chased us down until we knew His Grace and Salvation and may we by the Grace of God respond in kind by living unto God, doing His will and work, till Christ returns, seeking and saving the lost. Hallelujah!!! Church, it is an honor to be your pastor. We love you all.
