BURNS
OUR STORY
Micah and Bourne Burns are both third-generation San Diegans with deep roots in the city they love.
Their story began in a somewhat unexpected place: a wedding party. Bourne was a bridesmaid in Micah’s older sister’s wedding, and Micah was the bride’s little brother standing on the other side of the aisle. A year and one deployment to the Middle East later, they were celebrating a wedding of their own.
They married in May 2003 and began serving together at Beach Chapel in February 2005. They were ordained together in The Wesleyan Church in 2010 and stepped into their roles as Senior Leaders of Beach Chapel in 2015.
At the heart of their leadership is a shared conviction that the Church is meant to be more than a Sunday gathering. They believe it is a spiritual family where people encounter the presence and power of God, become grounded in Scripture, build healthy relationships, and discover who they are in Christ.
Their desire is to cultivate a thriving Kingdom community where people are healed, equipped, empowered, and sent to carry the reality of God’s Kingdom into everyday life.

When they’re not at church, you’ll probably find Micah and Bourne sneaking away to Disneyland, challenging each other to a game of pool, ping pong, or Scrabble, or taking the RV out for a local adventure.
MICAH BURNS
SENIOR LEADER
Bourne Burns is a passionate leader, equipper, and spiritual mentor with a heart for seeing people encounter the transforming presence of God and discover who they truly are in Christ.
She loves helping people move beyond simply knowing about God into experiencing the freedom, intimacy, and authority available to them through Jesus. With a strong emphasis on the identity and authority of the believer and the supernatural life with the Holy Spirit, Bourne is committed to raising up an overcoming Church living as active participants in His Kingdom.
As a Senior Leader at Beach Chapel, Bourne is passionate about cultivating a church that is alive with the presence and power of God, deeply rooted in Scripture, and healthy in its relationships. She especially loves raising up leaders, equipping believers for ministry, and helping people step confidently into their God-given calling.
Through Burns Ministries, she carries that same heart into speaking, teaching, mentorship, and training beyond the local church.
Micah Burns is a pastor, leader, and communicator who loves helping people discover who they are in Christ and what it looks like to live fully in God’s Kingdom.
With a love for people, a sense of humor, and a covenantal approach to Scripture, Micah is passionate about making the things of God understandable, accessible, and relevant to everyday life. He believes the Church is called to be a community where people encounter God’s presence, grow in healthy relationships, and are equipped to live with faith, freedom, and purpose.
Micah has served in pastoral ministry at Beach Chapel since 2005 and, alongside his wife Bourne, has served as a Senior Leader since 2015.
Through Beach Chapel and Burns Ministries, he carries a passion for strengthening the Church, equipping believers to walk confidently in their identity and authority in Christ, and inspiring people to take risks in faith as they participate in God’s advancing Kingdom.
